NUS are currently looking to find students' unions who are actively involved in campaigns for student parents and student carers.
Several case studies will be generated to help share good practice before the official launch of the new NUS "child-friendly campus" campaign in February. NUS have been in contact with several unions around the country, but are on the look for more.
The case studies will involve a visit by NUS staff and officers to speak with the student union and collect information. A short report will be co-produced by NUS and the union and published in spring 2013.
NUS are looking in particular for unions who provide child-friendly facilities and provisions for student parents and/or are working with their universities to provide up-to-date policy on pregnant students and students with dependents. Issues such as timetabling and attendance are key campaigns for student parents too.
If your union is working in this area, NUS would like to hear about it. Email Adam Wright at email@example.com.
