We know that students want to learn more about sustainability. Each year, 80 per cent tell us that they want their institutions to do more on sustainability, and 60 per cent want to learn more about it. But now we know even more.
Since April 2014, we've tracked students' atttiudes towards climate change. They told us that:
77 per cent are concerned about the effects of climate change
Over 60 per cent think that we're already feeling the effects of climate change
Over two thirds would be more likely to vote for a government which took action on climate change
With our previous research and the huge engagement we see through our sustainability initiatives across the country, we knew that students cared deeply about the green agenda - but these new statistics continue to show us just how much.
As we move into campaigning on a new deal for the next generation ahead of next year's General Election, and the crucial COP in Paris, we'll be working with students' unions across the country to shape a student voice on sustainability. It's never been more important.
