Officer Development

FE Leaders

This course has been developed for elected officers of FE students’ unions.

This introductory course aims to enable officers to gain skills, knowledge and confidence to effective student leaders in further education.

The course will take delegates on a journey to reflect on their own responsibilities and understanding of leadership, to consider the impact of working collectively both locally and nationally, as well as understanding how to influence educational policy to drive quality and improvement in teaching and learning.

"For me FE Leadership was crucial in understanding my role, preparing for challenges and making like-minded friends from across the country… Leadership can be a scary word, people will often think “I’m not a leader” to them I say, leadership is knowing what needs to be done and the training course helps you to understand how to do it.” FE Leadership delegate, 2013
